Sen. Meekhof offers comment on Civil Service Commission decision

LANSING—State Sen. Arlan B. Meekhof, R-West Olive, issued the following statement today, following the state Civil Service Commission decision to extend health care benefits to domestic partners of state employees:

“I am disappointed that the unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats on the Civil Service Commission have made a decision to spend millions of extra taxpayer dollars at a time when we are facing a significant budget deficit.
